In my paintings, I draw inspiration from my surroundings as well as from mythology and folklore. The main recurring motif is a cat, depicted in larger than life size as a warrior, protector and hunter - being that carries the mystery, femininity and power of a nocturnal animal. Through this lens, I explore themes of strength, resilience, and companionship.
My work is also rooted in the playful tension between spontaneity and control. I explore the contrasts between expansive color fields and charcoal drawings, capturing moments that feel both deliberate and impulsive. I accompany my paintings by making simple monotypes, which offer a more loose and instinctive approach.These prints capture a sense of immediacy and freedom, reflecting the spontaneous energy of my work.
